'Baboons in charcoal'
"Currently, my creative inspiration comes from the never ending stream of fascinating natgeo Instagram posts as was the inspiration for this drawing. The very distinctively down turned mouth of the pale baboon in reaction to being pestered by his mate is what drew me to want to recreate the image myself. This is an expression I can picture on certain people I know... I used 4 different shades of charcoal for the drawing, often smudging areas with a finger to achieve the desired shade or texture. I find charcoals really enjoyable to draw with as you don't have to be so precise as with a pencil and you can create varying effects with smudging."
