Heidi is a talented illustrator and designer from Oslo, Norway. We really liked her style of illustration so here's a bit more about her work and inspiration...
"I have been drawing since I was a little girl and I have a bachelor degree in Visual Communication from Bergen Acadamy of Art and Design in Norway.
I currently work as a designer for the Norwegian porcelain company Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik. The job involves designing for Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik, Christiania Glasmagasin, Hadeland Glassverk, Norgesglasset and Steninge Slott. The assignments varies, and my favorite things that I like to work with is designing mugs and tea light holders. I have made designs for both summer and winter, that mostly involve animals and nature motives. Earlier I also made totebags, pillow cases, posters, postcards and phone cases.
My inspiration is always greatest during spring. When the flowers are blooming, the sun is up longer in the evening and the birds are singing, my creativaty also blooms. I like taking pictures of flowers and birds and later draw them. My favorites are magnolia, cherryblossoms, sparrows and bluetits. I mostly use ink or a pilot pen, then I scan the illustrations and finish them up in Photoshop. I like to have a long process and make several sketches to try out different compositions. It is usually the last one I make that turns out the best. I work best when I sit quietly alone, either in my office or at home with some music on or an audio book in my ears"

We recently took a Summer Bank Holiday trip to the capital of Norway, Oslo. This beautiful city managed to capture both our hearts in the four days we were there.
