We are thrilled to introduce Rosie, a 28 year old self taught illustrator from Cornwall, who creates beautifully detailed black and white designs exclusively using pen and ink.
Rosie is particularly inspired by scientific illustrations from the 19th Century. Her work charmingly weaves together animal, botanical, mineral and geometric elements. When looking for inspiration, Rosie will hike to the nearest forest to spark her creativity amongst the greenery and wildlife.
Rosie has adored illustration for as long as she can remember and went on to study Art History at the University of Nottingham, drawing in every spare moment she had. “Looking back, I’m glad that I taught myself to draw as it gave me so much more freedom to explore styles and make mistakes. I became brave enough to show others my work last year and received so much encouragement I thought, life is too short not to do what I love.”
Currently designing her latest print range, Rosie is getting ready to launch her first collection of merchandise on her online shop. Keep your eyes peeled for stickers, badges and other wearable’s coming soon to her website.
Rosie is hoping to create all kinds of interesting products with her designs in the future such as t-shirts, books and home ware. She looks forward to lots of late nights inking and coffee drinking and she wouldn’t want it any other way.
