First things first, we hope everyone is safe & well in these strange & uncertain times with COVID-19 outbreak.
Over the last 8 months we’ve taken a step back from running our beloved ethical clothing store. We felt we needed to take some time out to refocus & re-inspire ourselves to enable us to take the brand forward and provide the maximum amount of support to our current & new charity collaborations...
Which leads me on perfectly to announce our brand new collaboration with the Rainforest Trust.
We’re super excited to be teaming up with these Rainforest conservation superheroes. Their goal is simple - to purchase & protect threatened rainforest and save endangered wildlife through community engagement & local partnerships - and for the last 30 years that’s exactly what they’ve been doing.
By the end of 2020 they are hoping to have protected 50 million acres of rainforest and countless species of animals that reside here. The forests of Borneo & Sumatra are among the most biologically diverse habitats on the planet, possessing huge numbers of unique plants and animals.
Unfortunately, due to this regions vast wealth of natural resources, this has attracted large scale extractive industries like precious hardwoods, minerals, palm oil, rubber & coal. The rate of deforestation is staggering & quite scary - not only are the forests getting destroyed but countless animals are losing their home and more often than not, their lives.
We reached out to the Rainforest Trust last summer and started talking to the Executive Director, Chris Redston - we had the idea of creating a design that featured some of the most endangered species in Bornean Rainforest: Orangutans, Clouded Leopards, Bornean Rhinos & Pygmy Elephants.
The design was illustrated by Jennie Webber and shows all 4 of these wonderful but engaged animals in their natural forest home.
As always, a £5 donation will be made for each t-shirt sold, which will go straight to the Rainforest Trust so they can help protect our rainforest and the amazing wildlife that inhabits them.
We chose to print on a selection of crisp white organic cotton garments. You will also see our new boxed logo on the front left of the t-shirt.
As always, any support you can give to us or the Rainforest Trust is greatly appreciated.
